Since Congress has reached an agreement and the federal government shutdown has ended the E-Verify® system will resume operations as normal. Employers using Equifax’s I-9 Management will not need to do anything additional as cases for eligible Forms I-9 have already been queued and will be submitted for processing.
Please note DHS has requested that Equifax submit backlogged cases slowly over the next few days as the system will be overwhelmed with requests. In addition, some clients may have a larger number of E-Verify cases to process than usual because of the backlog of cases that could not be processed during the shutdown.
